Ingredients Key

Vitamin B9 (better known as folic acid) plays multiple roles in the body, particularly during the perinatal period. It is involved in all processes of cell growth and division and prevents malformations of the nervous system, particularly the neural tube. Vitamin B9 is key for the functioning of the body, the constitution of the embryo and the proper development of the fetus.

Many women are deficient in vitamin B9 without knowing it, even though it has been proven that taking vitamin B9 can considerably limit the risk of malformations.

Vitamin B9 may include:

- folate, the natural form of vitamin B9, which is naturally present in foods

- folic acid, of synthetic origin which is found in certain food supplements, but which is not correctly assimilated by all women.

At Boome, we have chosen a natural form of vitamin B9, more bioavailable than folic acid. We sourced it from citrus fruits and lemon in particular. We have also combined our vitamin B9 with vitamin B12, D, Zinc and choline to maximize its effects.

FAQs

For how long should I take the "Pregnancy" multivitamin?

We recommend taking our “Pregnancy” food supplement from preconception to postpartum and throughout your pregnancy. You can therefore continue to take your vitamins after giving birth to help your body recover more quickly.

You will be able to associate Pregnancy with our postpartum products, perfectly suited, especially if you are breastfeeding.

Why take prenatal vitamins?

Taking food supplements during pregnancy as part of a healthy and varied diet promotes its smooth progress.

In France, only 23% of women have vitamin B9 supplementation during the preconception period (2016 national perinatal survey).
However, taken before pregnancy (at least 1 month before becoming pregnant), it reduces the risk of malformations linked to a failure of closure of the neural tube by 72% (study published in Medical Research Center).

Still in France, 75% of women of childbearing age have a vitamin B9 deficiency and may not know it.

Choosing pregnancy vitamins that are well formulated and free of nanoparticles and other dangerous substances is preferable. Following a course of treatment over time helps limit deficiencies and other problems linked to a deficit in essential vitamins and minerals. The College of French Gynecologists-Obstetricians (CNGOF) and the High Authority of Health (HAS) also recommend supplementation with vitamins D and B9.
Informed supplementation must be done over time to anticipate possible pregnancy-related ailments. Today, our lifestyles, dietary restrictions, food processing (from overcooking to the steps linked to the food industry) no longer make it possible to obtain all the vitamins and minerals that the body needs to get through all stages of pregnancy.
Supplementing consciously allows you to give your body the chance to be supported before, during and after pregnancy.

When to start our pregnancy vitamins?

It is recommended to supplement as soon as you want to become pregnant, in particular to increase your vitamin B9 reserves.

The quality of your eggs reflects your nutritional status 3 months ago.

In addition to a balanced diet, we therefore recommend taking our “Pregnancy” reference as soon as you want to have a child. Our multivitamin replaces at equal dose (400ug) the folic acid generally prescribed.

In case of pregnancy plans, discover our wider range of dietary supplements for fertility.

Why does Pregnancy not contain iron?

We have chosen not to add iron to the Pregnancy composition, because not all women are iron deficient and do not need supplementation. A blood test should be carried out before any iron supplementation.

Furthermore, it is not recommended to take iron at the same time as other ingredients, as this can lead to bad interactions. We advise you to take it away from your pregnancy vitamins, preferably in the evening.

Should I continue to take my folic acid at the same time?

You can stop taking the folic acid that has been prescribed for you.

Pregnancy contains 400µg of vitamin B9, which is equivalent to the recommended daily dose.

Vitamin B9 contributes to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy and prevents the risk of neural tube closure defects.

It thus allows you to cover your needs with a form that can be assimilated by the body, unlike folic acid.

Can Pregnancy be taken by my partner?

Yes ! The vitamins and minerals contained in Pregnancy help take care of male fertility, in particular by improving the quality of sperm.

We recommend a treatment of at least 3 months, in particular to support the process of producing new sperm (which lasts on average 2 and a half months).

Is pregnancy compatible with a PMA course?

We have many clients undergoing medically assisted procreation.

It seemed essential to us from the creation of Boome to be able to address everyone, and in particular women for whom the childbearing period is more complex.

Our Pregnancy reference can complement your various protocols and will help your body stock up on essential micro-nutrients. Do not hesitate to confirm this with your doctor.

Awesome

I started taking these vitamins the month I got pregnant (coincidence? I like to think not). I continued taking them throughout my pregnancy. It was very reassuring to take them because in the first trimester I was eating very poorly due to nausea and vomiting. But no deficiencies and baby got everything she needed. Thanks Boome!

My only problem is that I have trouble digesting these 3 capsules a day. I feel reflux with each dose and it's quite annoying. So I try to space them out as much as I can...

Satisfied

After using Baby Boost, I switched to pregnancy vitamins. I find it very convenient that folic acid is included in the formula, and the vitamins don't make me tired at all (which is often the case with vitamin cocktails I've taken in the past). So, all positive!

I have been taking Boome supplements since I started planning to get pregnant, on the recommendation of my naturopath.
Convinced by their benefits, I can only recommend them to you as well.
